Favorite Kind of Gardening July 15 2016

I have found my favorite kind of gardening.

I grew up on a farm and we had a huge garden. My memories of summer revolve around the garden - the planting, the weeding, the watering, the picking of vegetables, hours spent shelling peas, washing cucumbers, cutting beans.Up until last year, the thought of gardening was overwhelming to me.

A year ago I learned about the Tower Garden. I've brought gardening back into my life and am loving it. The Tower Garden is so easy even people without any gardening experience are able to grow their own vegetables.

I so enjoyed being able to go out on my deck and pick the veggies I needed for my salad, the herbs I needed for dinner or the kale for my morning smoothie.

I can grow up to 20 different plants so I mixed it up. This year I planted lettuce, kale, spinach, dill, cilantro, basil, peas, cucumbers, zucchini, butternut squash, tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes.

These photos show the growing process of the Tower Garden

Using my Tower Garden won't stop in the fall. When most people's garden is over, mine can continue on. I can add grow lights to the unit, move it inside and continue to enjoy the fresh veggies and herbs.
